Vespa Congo 1963

There is a phrase that says that in order to reconcile the war began. Ending a war or conflict in a region other than produce peace, sometimes it is never unexpected. This unexpected fait can be all sorts and even irrational, such as the growing popularity of one type of two-wheeled vehicle that is the Vespa.

As we both know, the war that raged in the African continent in a decade of irrational 1960'an impact on the popularity of the Vespa, especially in this beloved homeland. As part of the Indonesian people caring for world peace, then after the end of Congo War (the country changed its name several times, Congo, Zaire, Congo), dated July 31, 1960 ouster of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations sent troops to become part of a peacekeeping force in Congo State. Being a high concern for peace on earth, Indonesia has sent his best troops to the Congo with a password Garuda Indonesian troops through several landings.

After duty as peacekeepers completed, Garuda Indonesian troops receive sign recognition from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, where one of them a Vespa (from several sources said that in granting that there is also a form of money, and some sewing needles crate). Vespa actually seen here already binds us (the scooteris) with our nation in the international arena, although never written in gold ink history of this republic.
Interesting that the award be listened Vespa is also not free from tradition in the military world. Some sources say that for the green Vespa 150 cc of soldiers who aimed for a higher rank level, while the yellow and blue 125 cc for the lower rank levels. In addition to complete identity of Vespa Pin a sign referred to also in the number of soldiers is concerned, on the left handlebar (handlebar) oval-shaped material made of brass and an award plaque that accompanies it.
After that it is in these years with the title ramailah Vespa Vespa Congo milling in the streets, which adds a new Vespa Vespa type had previously been present. This condition was also a positive impact on sales of Vespa in the homeland at that time. Vespa Congo who have been rounded to contribute in the form of free advertising for Vespa importer in Indonesia. This then lead to the development of such a stigma here that turned round Vespa yes; Vespa Congo.

Along with the passage of time will begin an evolution of the Vespa Congo extinction in the ground water occurs. Many reasons that make it happen, as he had sold the Vespa referred to by its original owner, or there are some parts of the severely damaged so it is very difficult to repair. This is the limited number of these species caused Vespa is also very significant presence with a number of our troops are receiving. Although the author had met with the Vespa type forces which do not belong to Garuda Indonesia (the Vespa seems to have also these kind of entry into Indonesia via the Vespa importer that time), but still will supply spare parts or other things that accompany it, such as front or Speedo spakbor the meter is minimal available. Not so with other types of Vespa is still produced, although many by local production houses.
With the above conditions, the Vespa Congo began to enter the list as one of The Most Wanted Vespa in Indonesia, which is used as a mount scooteris as well as collectables for collectors Vespa.
Sibling Vespa Congo
One of the unique Vespa Vespa Congo is not the type manufactured by Italy but by Germany. With raw material steel plate is louder than the generally rounded Vespa, Vespa Congo has a completeness level greater than the Vespa made in Italy are generally distributed in Indonesia (VBB1T or VBB2T). Congo is proof penetration Vespa scooter Italy products that swept the world. To be able to know this can be started from Vespa developments in Germany.
Jacob Oswald Hoffmann is the owner of a bicycle manufacturer in Lintorf, a city located in the North Dusseldorf. He built his own factory to buy a parcel of land upon which had stood for a former factory building hoe / hoe after the end of the war. Once upon a time in early 1949 he found some photos vespa journalists shots above his desk. From here there are fundamental differences, and Hoffman find out more about the object image.
The opportunity came when at the Frankfurt Show, where Hoffmann and Vespa met for the first time. From there later Hoffmann Vespa eager to build factories in Lintorf. He later submitted to the Piaggio Vespa for granted license to build the market for Germany.
Piaggio Hoffmann strongly supports the request. They then saw firsthand likely Vespa market in Germany and found acceptable by the market Vespa Germany. The next step is to them an approach to some importers, but the importers are not interested. The delay is minimized by accelerating the signing of cooperation agreements between the two, and start Hoffmann as the main license for owners of Vespa products for all of West Germany was also partly Vespa market in the northern part of the country and are entitled to export to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Danish. Sales responsibility for the southern area of the state is handled by Vespa Marketing GmbH in Frankfurt.
Vespa quickly proved popular in Germany, the news media picked it up as an innovative product and stylis and praising the ciptaanya Piaggio two-wheeled form of transport vehicles are very interesting. 1953, Hoffmann factory has produced more than 400 units per week Vespa. But entering the following years the production rate decreased by half. In Germany the economic conditions are unfavorable, Hoffmann believes that the solutions remain in the points competition and he created the Vespa with a better performance.
Then he created the Vespa with the title Konigin model that looks stout with the added touch of chromm and headlights and so forth. Konigin development costs are very expensive, and endanger the financial condition of Hoffmann. Manufacture of new types of other scooter made by Piaggio cooperation between Hoffmann lost, entered the partnership in early 1955 they disbanded.
Piaggio and then build a relationship with Messerschmitt Co., Which then issued the production of the first Vespa in 1955. They brought out two models: GS 150 Touren and which claimed more powerful. They also provide after sales and service and spare parts for Vespa Hoffmann production. This cooperation continued until the end of 1957.
After that stand Vespa Augsburg GmbH, a joint venture between Piaggio and Martial Fane Organisation, this joint venture and then also provide some parts for Vespa Messerschmitt. Both models are made when kongsian with Messerschmitt (150 Touren and GS) and then developed with some modifications. In addition it also gave birth to Augsburg GmbH Vespa 125 cc Vespa first introduced in 1958. Production continued until 1963, which represents the peak of the scooter and production changes that are not too many. In the sequel Germany and then imported directly from Italy's Vespa.
From the above description sibling Vespa Congo where we really are? There are several noteworthy thing here is, first of the year partnership between Piaggio with several companies in Germany and two from the side of the year and production numbers that accompany the Vespa Congo itself. From the author of several Vespa penulusuran Congo who are based in BPKB output in 1958 is the year until 1963, when it is very synchronous completion of the task forces associated with Garuda Indonesia as a peacekeeping force in Congo. For this period, the cooperation between Piaggio with Hoffmann does not count. This is due kongsian both disbanded in 1955 and rose-shaped product of the cooperation model of a Vespa with a bicycle handlebar and using Fender Light. The second partnership in Germany with Messerschmitt Piaggio. From this collaboration came out Vespa GS products are often called in Indonesia, Germany and GS 150 Touren version which is the origin of our Congo Vespa, but kongsian too did not last long because in the year 1957. they broke up. However, the development of GS and 150 Touren continues, when Piaggio cooperation with Fane Martial Organization by establishing Vespa Augsburg GmbH 1958, the collaboration is then born of what we call a Vespa Congo

Tips : Setting Karburator

Jarum pelampung aus, akibatnya banjir. Untuk memperbaiki jarum
pelampung yang aus itu sediakan ampelas halus ukuran 1000.
Bongkar jarum pelampung dari posisinya. Tentu harus membuka
empat sekrup pengikat mangkuk. Lalu ampelas ujungnya dengan
cara memutar sampai rata.

Cara itu bisa kusut, karena tinggi pelampung tidak sesuai lagi
dengan rekomendasi pabrik. Untuk ini, mesti tahu rahasia
menyetelnya.
Adapun caranya adalah sebagai berikut :
Pasang kembali jarum berikut pelampung lalu buat patokan dasar,
ukur lagi tinggi pelampung. Pasang mangkuk karbu, cukup diapit
tangan, tidak perlu diikat pakai empat sekrupnya. Posisikan
karburator berdiri. Lalu pasang slang bensin dan biarkan bensin
mengisi mangkuk.
Cabut slang dan buka mangkuknya. Perhatikan jumlah bensin dalam
mangkuk. Melakukan sedikit percobaan dengan memiringkan mangkuk.
Yang normal, permukaan bensin (sisi yang mau tumpah) tepat di
bibir mangkuk, sedangkan permukaan sisi lain, kudu pas dengan
'lantai dasar' coakan ruang pelampung.

sejajar batas coakan.
Bila terlalu banyak bensin di mangkuk (banjir), tinggal
meninggikan pelambung dan sebaliknya bila kurang, pelampung
dibuat rendah. Pelampung terbuat dari pelat, tinggal menaik -
turunkan kaki stoppernya. Sedangkan pelampung dari plastik,
perlu memanaskan dulu kakinya pakai solder.

2010 Piaggio MP3 300 replaces 250 model

Piaggio is replacing the 250cc version of its MP3 three-wheeled scooter with a new larger displacement model with ride-by-wire throttle control.

Piaggio says the MP3 300 has the same maximum horsepower as the 250 but reaches its peak at a lower rpm.

The Piaggio MP3 300 will replace the 250 as the mid-sized version in the MP3 lineup, slotted between the 125, 400 and 500 models. It’s not clear however when the MP3 300 will be available in North America where the 250 was the smallest model offered.

The new model uses a fuel injected 278cc engine, replacing the previous 244cc power plant. Piaggio says the new engine produces 22.5hp at 6,500 rpm (compared to 22.5hp at 8,250 rpm with the old engine) of power and 17.1 ft-lb. at 6,500 rpm (up from 15.5 ft-lb. at 6,750 rpm) of torque, while consuming less fuel.

The Piaggio MP3 300 will also be the first in the line to have ride-by-wire electronic throttle control. According to Piaggio, the electronic control optimizes the air/fuel mixture for smoother power directory.

The entire MP3 range will get new front and rear light clusters. The new headlights get a silver backing while the taillight has a new sleek shape.

Full specifications and photos released for Yamaha's new middleweights - the FZ8 and Fazer8

Yamaha has finally released full specifications for its new middleweight street sportsbikes, the naked FZ8-N and semi-faired Fazer8. A 779cc engine derived from the FZ1 donk is the star of the show, with a complete FZ1 frame and swingarm as well. The new engine makes significantly more torque than the smaller FZ6 for a gruntier, more accessible power curve around town - but builds to a healthy 105-horsepower top end rush when it's time to get a boogie on. It looks like a fun, fast and friendly street sportsbike - and yes, FZ6 fans, it has formally replaced the 600 in the FZ lineup. Continue Reading ... Chicane motorcycle seat helps you slide smoothly from kneedown left to kneedown right

A British company believes it has come up with a revolutionary seat upgrade for racetrack riders. The Chicane saddle unit ditches the traditional foam butt-pad for a series of rollers and gears to allow riders to slide smoothly from knee-down left to knee-down right in a tight series of corners without having to lift their entire bodyweight off the seat to do so. It's a fascinating idea, particularly for those of us that find track riding physically demanding on the legs - and the inventors believe it could help dampen the bowel-loosening sideways flick of a highside as well.

Motorcycle seats: they probably get less attention than any other part of a bike - at least from the manufacturer. That's why Corbin does such a great trade in aftermarket ones that are actually comfortable over the long distance. But long-distance comfort is just one thing a rider might need from a seat. Yogo electric scooter features fast-charging removable battery

The yogo, by fledgling British company econogo, is the UK's first and only full production electric scooter that has removable lithium batteries. What’s so good about that? Well, instead of having to run an extension lead from a mains electricity socket inside the house or garage, the yogo’s removable battery allows owners to recharge their scooter’s battery inside their home - or office, which greatly increases the flexibility of a scooter that only has a range of 22 miles per battery charge. Carry another charged battery with you and double the distance you can travel before having to recharge (it only takes an hour). With a top speed of 38mph, the Yogo’s 1.5kW motor is billed as the equivalent of 100cc motorbike... Continue Reading Yogo electric scooter features fast-charging removable battery

Piaggio’s MP3 three-wheeled carver

A couple of things we didn’t get around to mentioning in our Gizmag review of the Piaggio MP3 three-wheel 250cc scooter - that may be of some interest to the more… ahem, spirited owner. Firstly, while we praised the plucky little carver’s huge braking power, we didn’t tell you that the twin front contact patches offer more than enough grip to lift the heavy weight-biased rear of the bike off the ground in a rather jovial manner when provoked.

What’s more, the front-end cornering confidence has to be felt to be believed - allowing cheerful riders to grind the centrestand down even at carpark-slalom speeds:

And finally it’s worth noting that the triangular wheelbase makes feet-up rolling burnouts a joy, the bike balancing unflappably beneath you as it smokes up a charm.

There’s a 400cc MP3 and a 500cc to be released as the Gilera Fuoco coming soon. I wonder if they’ll wheelie to complete the hooligan trifecta?

It’s not the sort of bike I expected to have such a good time with, but the three-wheel carver concept holds as much fun for experienced riders as it does security and confidence for newbies. Grab a test ride, you’ll see what I mean! We’re looking at chopping a video together of our MP3 test, more as it comes to hand.

HARLEY DAVIDSON and New Model Launch 2010

Harley Davidson is a little bit light on, in it’s 2010 Model line-up (lousy joke) with no less than nine new models we can swing a leg over. This is unprecedented, and represents the largest model introduction in Harley-Davidson's long history.

Harley-Davidson's entry level starts out with no less than a total of five models all priced around, or just under $10k.
Naturally if you have the dosh, and might want to splurge, then you can try four new models from their Custom Vehicle Operations Group and drool over no less than a CVO Fat Bob, CVO Softail Convertible, CVO Street Glide and just the epitome of Harley-Davidson, the top end CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide. These models will only set you back between $25k to $36K not much if it’s what you want, and Harley have the lot.
Yeah, yeah OK, there are models in between these price brackets including the great old American V-Twin. Check out the photo gallery that I found on the following web site, with the best photo line up Harley-Davidson could muster at :-

FAMOUS STARS GET OFF ON HOGS

FAMOUS STARS GET OFF ON HOGS
I don’t profess to be a critic of movies even though I have seen my fair share of road movies, and not withstanding this has a familiar theme that I’m sure that all who have seen it, would agree its a bit like City slickers meeting Easy Rider with a lot of fooling around thrown in...Yeah!
The movie is absolutely awash with first class actors and you need to be observant for some little cameo roles by other famous actors will surprise.
The notable lead stars all who are legends of film making like, Tim Allen as Doug, William Macey playing as Dudley, Martin Lawrence is Bobby, and the notable John Travolta as Woody.
The trailer clips that were released, showed us all that it was to be a road trip movie, with a fair bit of humour thrown in, and it didn’t disappoint.
The motorcycles of note were Harley Davidson's… pretty much all of them. Ridden by the stars in all but a few scenes, when doubles were used. It has been noted that a Major Motorcycle Riding Club took part in making up the numbers in the “procession” scenes and some of the stunt work. The Filmmakers were displaying some real heavy talent...besides Harley Motorcycles.
Worth a view on CD just for a laugh!

Honda Release Wave110iAT, Automattic Cub Motorcyle

Honda Thailand is releasing new bike with have the same compact transmission CV-Matic to beat the Y.C.A.T from Yamaha. It looks like a usual cub bike, but actually it is an automatic bike that shifts like scooter do. Still using the Wave 110 engine I think, but now it featured with automatic transmission. Can provide the same power and durability like the normal manual sequential transmission like Honda Wave 110? No one have analyzed it.

“February 18, 2010 – Honda will begin sales in Thailand of a new Cub-type automatic transmission (AT) scooter model, Wave110i AT, in March of this year through A. P. Honda Co., Ltd., a Honda affiliate responsible for distribution of Honda motorcycle products in Thailand. Based on the Wave110i, which is highly acclaimed for its fuel efficiency, the Wave110i AT features a new automatic transmission called CV-Matic. The starting price will be 44,900 baht, with an annual sales plan of 50,000 units. (1 baht = approximately 2.7 yen).

CV-Matic makes the Wave110i AT a product that offers both the typical characteristics of Cub-type bikes such as longer riding range, durability and superior cost-performance as well as added characteristics such as ease of operation and comfortable ride. In addition to Thailand, Honda has plans for the sequential introduction of Wave110i AT in Vietnam and neighboring countries to meet the diversifying needs of customers in ASEAN markets.

The CV-Matic features a new cooling system which solved the issue of heat load on drive belt, and was developed based on the small-motorcycle automatic transmission technologies Honda has been fostering over the years. This new system enhances the durability of the drive belt and allows for a more compact design with a shorter distance between the drive pulley and driven pulley. Due to this advance, the engine position does not need to be significantly altered, optimizing design layout freedom.

Industry-wide motorcycle sales in Thailand in 2009 totaled approximately 1.54 million units (down 10% compared to 2008). With sales of approximately 1.01 million units, more than 60% of the industry sales total, Honda has been the best-selling motorcycle brand in Thailand for 21 consecutive years. Due to the added comfort and ease-of-operation, the overall sales of AT models has been growing in Thailand, accounting for approximately 710,000 units, or approximately half of the market size in 2009.

With the introduction of the Wave110i AT, an AT model of the already popular Wave110i, Honda will further enhance its product lineup to meet the diversifying customer needs. Moreover, Honda is planning to install Honda’s programmed fuel injection system (PGM-FI) to all models sold in Thailand by the end of 2010.”

P120 Fighter Combat

Alabama-based luxury bike manufacturer Confederate Motor Company has just unleashed its new P120 Fighter Combat motorcycle at the Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California. The bike features the company’s signature “pure and direct” form with an aircraft grade aluminum frame, extended swing-arm and futuristic design that is somewhat reminiscent of the Moto-Terminators.

P120 Fighter Combat boasts 2 front suspension, solid chassis, carbon wheel discs. Inhibition is responsible for a radial front caliper Brembo, safely cutting into the brake disc from carbon fiber and ceramics. In the role of the driving forces were almost two-liter (OK, 1966-cc) V-twin, with a claimed output of 160 hp.

As the name somewhat implies, only 120 examples of the Confederate P120 Fighter Combat motorcycle will be produced.

Peugeot Electric Scooter, E-Vivacity (2010)

Peugeot released an electric version of the scooter, called the E-Vivacity. Electric model is, at least, analogous to 50 cm3 petrol scooter. Peugeot E-Vivacity is equipped with a lithium-cobalt battery capacity of about 4 000 watts, allows scooters on a single charge to overcome the 80 … 100 km.

The electric motor is capable of independently recharged during braking.

Under the driver’s seat has a board cable, with which you can recharge the batteries through an ordinary electrical outlet (230 V). Full charge the battery takes about four hours.

Specifications – synchronous motor with air cooling (equivalent to 50ss), the battery weight – 25kg., Transmission – gear, 32 mm front fork, front brake – Disk 200 mm., Rear brakes – a disc of 190 mm., Dimensions 1910 x 680 x 1168 mm., height – 786 mm., weight – 115 kg.

Honda Tiger 200 CC Sporty Modification

This one is a sporty modification concept of Honda Tiger 200 CC. I found this in a wordpress blogger, blogged by an Indonesian local blogger. He doesn't add any information in the post he made. Well,.. I think It's an expression of their fan about how Honda will improve their next design… And I think, Honda should begin to hear their customer about what kind of design is wanted by their customer. If not,.. never dream to take over Yamaha's top market share in Indonesia. And Honda should thanks to their fans of this brilliant design ideas!
